Help DeAngelo Tyson give back to the community who gave him hope. DeAngelo’s ultimate dream is to have a boys’ home return to Statesboro. Your participation in this event will help to make that dream a reality!
What an amazing year 2015 has been for the Tyson Foundation all because of your support. Two important milestones were reached. The first was raising over $73,000 at our first annual Tyson Foundation dinner and golf tournament. The second was reached on October 23 when the closing took place to purchase 12 acres with a 3,600 square foot home and a 1,900 square foot clubhouse for a boys home in Bulloch County. Your support together with funds from the sale of the previous home owned by Joseph’s Inc. purchased the property for Broken Shackle Ranch free and clear. What a great God we serve!
Now we look ahead to 2016 and expanding on the success we have seen this year. Our board unanimously agreed to use the funds raised in 2016 to support a new sports complex adjacent to the new boys home at the new 7th Mile Ranch campground, founded by Fostering Bulloch. Once completed, these fields will offer a safe space for youth to be mentored by community members and participate in teambuilding through playing sports. This complex will be called the DeAngelo Tyson Sports Complex.
As always, DeAngelo’s friends will be joining us! Confirmed to be there are Chris Canty (Baltimore Ravens), Fernando Velasco (UGA & Carolina Panthers), Garrison Smith (UGA), Chris Burnette (UGA), Brandon Wood (UGA), Mike Thornton (UGA), Brandon Williams (Baltimore Ravens), Abry Jones (UGA & Jacksonville Jaguars) and Cornelius Washington (UGA & Chicago Bears).
Come gather with DeAngelo and some of his football friends for this great luau-themed night of fellowship as you dine on a buffet dinner and raise money for the Tyson Foundation. Throughout the evening, you’ll have the opportunity to bid on some awesome auction items to help us raise money for the Foundation.
Dinner starts at 6:30pm.
